Hello :-)

Hey there!

My name is Nicole and I work for a bank as a Stockbroker. Although I love my job, interiors and even architecture are my passions and so, with this blog, I am hoping to share some of my own decorating joys with you. Myself and my husband bought a new place a year ago and the few months we spent decorating it (we sold all our existing furniture with the old house) was such a pleasure, that I almost want to hold on to it. I guess I sometimes wish I can go and buy a new house every year and decorate it the way I like… Although I completed a part-time one year diploma in interior design and decorating, I never took it a step further. With this blog I am hoping to take a little step into the virtual realm of beautiful spaces and share what I can with you and get your input. So let’s go! Let’s start with my living room as I welcome you in…

I wish I had a “before” picture… but as you can see we were basically met with a very sterile, blank canvas upon seeing the interior the first time. A double volume open plan living/dining area, white exposed ceiling beams, white porcelain tiles and white walls. What worked here was bringing in a pop of colour with different shades of red and adding several other elements, especially by bringing in different textures, such as the shaggy carpet and the faux fur blanket on the sofa.

I am a big fan of bringing a home to life with indoor plants, and so the huge skylight window that we have, (will show pictures in further posts) offers an opportunity for them to flourish and provide some much needed atmosphere.

More on all this later!
